The firm was founded in 1985 by Mrs. Roxana Rodríguez
Granja and Mr. Gustavo Martinoni Otormín who are prominent
and skilled professionals with the University Degree and qualifying
License issued by the Dirección Nacional de la Propiedad
Industrial - Ministerio de Industria Energía y Minería
de la República Oriental del Uruguay, (Government Patent
and Trade Mark Office) - Ministry of Industry, Power and Mining
of Uruguay), and in the Institute National of the Industrial
Property of the Republic Argentina (National Bureau for the
Industrial Property of Argentina). This title empowers her to
act professionally before this office members of the Association
for the Agencies of Industrial Property of Uruguay and Argentina,
and also members of several International Associations. Mrs.
Rodríguez and Mr. Martinoni also possess a wide knowledge
of administrative and judiciary regulations in the Industrial
and Intellectual Property areas. Besides, they are actively
and steadily participating in seminars, capacitation courses,
postgraduate courses, and conferences on the subject.
Our premises
are located on the main and most important Avenue in this country.
The half-floor the office is at has been specially designed
for the purpose, it is also located in the commercial and financial
center of the city of Montevideo (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires
(Argentina). It is only five blocks away from the main Government
Office. There are twenty-five persons working at our offices
who directly or indirectly assist our clients. These are the
Industrial Property Agents, Doctors in Jurisprudence, Marketing
specialists, Lawyers, Notaries, Economists, Engineers, Drawers,
Translators, Secretaries, etc. All of them have been trained
for the purpose.
Likewise a complete and up to date system of computer science
with Network interconnection by means of a powerful net helps
daily to maintain our patent and trademark sections, being it
a warranty for a quick and correct administration of the rights
of our clients. We also have on-line contact with the Databank
of the Government Office, which enables us to relay with no
delay all those proceedings which demand it.
A vast
library is being developed and updated constantly. We have everything
on national and international norms on Intellectual Property
and all of the Descriptive memos, plans, and claims from patents
of designs, utility, industrial designs, etc., so as a copy
of each and every trademark applied for, being registered right
now or in force, in the country.
The legal
Department of the firm has got optimal infrastructure and the
best professionals trained to cope with the different consults
of our national clients as well as those from abroad. This staff
is also trained to deal with subjects referring to litigious
and judiciary administration (trade marks and patents), copyrights,
international rights, etc..
